Meet David Lincoln

As Executive Director of the Western Alliance for Economic Development (WAED,) I represent and support rural cities and communities in Canyon and Gem Counties.  My responsibility is to provide assistance to businesses and local government, with available resources of Federal, State and Local Agencies, along with other business support.  WEDA provides a large variety of tools and services for business startup, retention, expansion, and attraction. I report to the Idaho Department of Commerce, WAED Board of Directors, County Commissions and Cities I represent. I support activities and organizations for enhancement of commerce in our area.

I am a lifelong resident of Southwest Idaho.  I was raised in the Wilder-Parma Area of Canyon County, on a Dairy and Row Crop Farm. I was owner-operator of a farming operation for 20 years, which was followed by a position as Supervisor for a Computer Manufacturing Company.  In 2006, I was appointed Administrator of the Wilder Housing Authority, where I managed the Affordable Family and Senior Housing.  I retired in 2018.

I have over 40 years of local government and community volunteer experience.  I served on our Local School Board, as a Highway District Commissioner, and am a past President of the Idaho Association of Highway Districts.  I have been a local volunteer firefighter, and served as a Political Legislative District Chairman.  I was a Candidate for the Idaho Legislature in 2018.  My wife Susan and I are Parents and Grandparents.
